Funding High-Demand Programs
Each year the Friends and the Library identifies high-demand resources or services and provides targeted funding to expand access. This past year, the Miami-Dade Public Library System was able to meet the demand for the Homework Help and Tutoring Program across all 50 branch locations due to grant support provided by the Friends. In addition, the Friends provided funding for the Mobile Device Lending program.

The Friends facilitates grants that enable new libraries or support enhancements in existing branches such as the Brick Campaign and the future Children's Reading Room at Key Biscayne.
Promotion of Library Services and programs
The Friends prioritizes increased promotion of the Library’s programs, services and resources to Miami-Dade residents.
Librarian Appreciation and Development
Each year, the Friends organizes employee recognition and professional development for our dedicated library workforce
